Cardiff City's battered and bruised players hope to have benefitted from a week long rest as they travel to Deepdale, home of last season's horror show, to face Preston North End.
The Bluebirds will have David Marshall available after being rested as a precaution against Barnsley while Anthony Gerrard was also cleared to play following a bang to his head that saw him depart at half-time. McNaughton will look to continue his fine form on one flank, while Adam Matthews will hope to oust Mark Kennedy after an enerrgetic appearance from the bench.
Midfield remains the weakness for the Bluebirds, and Jones looks set to grant teenager Aaron Wildig a rest after fatigue and trapped nerves took their toll on the youngster. Peter Whittingham looks set to switch infield allowing Ross McCormack a rare start on the left wing. Burke will play on the right and although Gavin Rae is favourite to start, his place must be under threat from Darcy Blake and Sol Taiwo after a poor run of form.
Joe Ledley (hip), Steve McPhail (rib), Josh Magennis (broken leg), Mark Hudson (ankle) and Kelvin Etuhu (ankle) all remain sidelined while Warren Feeney may be granted leave to be with his pregnant wife.
Preston North End manager Darren Ferguson also has some injury concerns and key defender Callum Davidson (who likes to play against us!) remains out after a heavy blow to the head. Tommy Williams may deputise after joining on loan from Peterborough. Richard Chaplow is likely to come back into contention after a groin problem.
Also missing for the Lilywhites will be Welsh winger Paul Parry , who joined PNE from Cardiff over the summer. Parry has been struggling with a knee complain and has seen his return delayed.
