Bristol City vs Cardiff City (Team News)

Cardiff City face a difficult trip to rivals Bristol City , a job furtehr complicated by an injury crisis hitting the Bluebirds midfield.

Riccy Scimeca's recent retirement, along with continuing anti-cancer therapy for Stephen McPhail have hit us, while Joe Ledley has been struggling with a longstanding hip complaint. Furtehr, Gavin Rae is ruled out with a broken bone in his hand so youngster Aaron Wildig and forgotten man Sol Tawio are on standby.

Mark Kennedy misses out with a calf strain while fellow full-back Kevin McNaughton faces a late fitness test after a slight pull to his hamstring against Peterborough. Paul Quinn and Adam Matthews will play in Super Kev misses out.

Talismanic striker Jay Bothroyd has a sore knee and could miss out paving the way for a seturn for Michael Chopra, or a rare start for Kelvin Etuhu.

Bristol City also have their own worries with Welshman Lewin Nyatanga suspended. Giant centre-back Jamie McCombe and James Wilson are both expected to miss out so City will have a chance for goals if nothing else!

Midfielder Evander Sno has been granted ompassionate leave while an un-expected decision was yesterday made to send diminutive midfielder Lee Johnson leave on loan to join Derby County.

Fellow midfielder Ivan Sproule has also been ruled out with a hamstring strain.

Cardiff are without midfielders Gavin Rae (hand) and Stephen McPhail for Saturday's trip to Ashton Gate.

Full-backs Mark Kennedy (calf) and Kevin McNaughton (hamstring) are doubts while striker Jay Bothroyd (swollen knee) also faces a late fitness test.
