Cardiff City travel to West Brom tonight to face one of the promotion favourites and 2nd place Championship side West Brom - looking to return to the Premiership at the first time of asking, and making a pretty good start !
The Baggies are one of several yo-yo teams too good for the Championship but unable to cut it in the top league. However, they have some excellent players and can be extremely effective at this level.
In particular: Scott Carson, striker Roman Bednar and the creative influences of Robert Koren and Filipe Teixeria stand out as key players for WBA.
However, a further potent threat is provided by seasoned Championship winger Chris Brunt, formerly of Sheffield Wedensday and a dangerous left sided player with an eye for goal and a wicked cross.
Brunt is a regular for Northern Ireland and has become an important member of the West Brom side after his big money move, rumoured to be around the £2.5m mark. He is not the arcitypal tricky winger and stands at over 6 foot tall, nevertheless, his rangey style and excellent touch and atechnical ability mark him as one of the best players in the league.
Brunt is currently the Baggies' top scorer with 6 goals this season and will provide a stern test for the Cardiff City right-back whether it be Adam Matthews, Paul Quinn or Kevin McNaughton.
