Burkey You Beauty

Cardiff City winger Chris Burke sublime strike was the only real difference between Cardiff City and Preston, but the Bluebirds showed good professionalism and effort to see out the game.

For the second time in a week, the Canton end was treated to a stunning goal, both left-footed unstoppable shots and both coming from David Marshall clearances! Bothroyd nodded to Burke who took the ball from underneath his feet and sweetly struck his shot into the top corner.

PNE barely threatened but Parkin's shot was well saved by Marshall and the brutish striker saw a 'goal' ruled out after he ploughed through 3 defenders to bustle home a corner.

Bothroyd had a couple of efforts while an off colour Chopra failed to get a decent contact as he raced through and Lonergan smothered.

The win was the important factor for City, but Scimeca and McNaughton made heroic comebacks and both played very well - Captain Mark Hudson was also very very good.
