Cardiff City have been given a welcome boost with the return to fitness of key striker Jay Bothroyd. The former Arsenal trainee missed the defeat to Barnsley with a persistent knee problem and we looked toothless without him - he will slot in at the expense of Ross McCormack.
Also returning from injury are defenders Adam Matthews and Anthony Gerrard but both Paul Quinn and Gabor Gyepes did well and will hope to hang onto their places.
Kevin McNaughton is out with a hamstring recurrance while the game comes too early for Kelvin Etuhu who has returned from ankle ligament damage.
The loan departures of Warren Feeney and Tony Capaldi mean we are struggling to fill the bench but their absence means a chance for the youngsters with Aaron Morris (full-back) and Josh Magennis (striker) those hoping for a chance.
For Ipswich Town, key defender Alex Bruce will miss out with a hamstring injury but Roy Keane can call upon Gareth MacAuley to replace him following his return to full training.
New arrival Stern John may be handed a debut as Keane looks to shake up a mis-firing attack so John could start with Jon Stead in a powerful attack partnership.
The Tractor Boys will have one enforced change after loan keeper Amir Begovic was recalled by host club Portsmouth. ITFC have the luxury of replacing him with Richard Wright.
