Four hundred and fifty minutes - that`s approximately the time since Michael Chopra last scored for Cardiff City making it 5 successive games without a goal for the hotshot striker. He played the whole of those five games (save for 2 minutes against Watford) and was suspended for the last outing - a 3-2 defeat at Swansea City.
Five games without a goal is hardly disastrous, but no-one will be more eager than Chopra to find the net against Barnsley on Saturday - especially as he returns to a ground where he spent a loan spell whilst with Newcastle United.
The last time Chopra scored, he got FOUR in a 6-1 rout of Derby County. His finishing was exquisite on the day and he made a mockery of the Rams defenders. Since then, he has contributed heavily to our attack and caused problems for opposition defenders. Chopra`s goalscoring feats have caused him to be marked out for special attention in turn creating more space for the likes of Whittingham and Bothroyd - who have both profited handsomely.
With Ross McCormack back to fitness and waiting on the wings (in both ways!), there is more pressure on Chopra to perform. He currently leads the Championship scoring chart and will be doing everything to retain that place - it would take a very brave man to bet against him scoring on Saturday.
