Cardiff City face Nottingham Forest on Sunday as the two form teams in the Championship come head-to-head.
Although relatively new to the division, Forest are performing well and have a host of good players in their squad. Winger Paul Anderson and striker David McGoldrick will cause problems for the Bluebirds, but it is former Cardiff City defender Chris Gunter most fans will be looking out for.
Gunter is a product of the Cardiff academy and broke into the first team as a teenager. He was calm and assured, putting in a series of impressive displays at right back. He found first team opportunities difficult to come by, largely thanks to sharing his position with McNaughton.
Gunter left Cardiff City in unfortunate circumstances when the Bluebirds desperately needed quick funds and Tottenham Hotspur stumped up £1m for his services. Things didn't go brilliantly for Gunter at Spurs, though he looked good when he did feature including a memorable display in keeping Cristiano Ronaldo quiet. He moved to Forest on loan last season, and joined on a permanent basis over the summer.
Gunter will be tasked with keeping Bluebirds winger Peter Whittingham quiet - the former Villa man cannot stop scoring and Gunter will be trying to pick up his late runs in from the left.
Gunter is a good player at Championship level, and has massive potential. This will be the first time he has played against the Bluebirds. There were rumours at the time that he felt pushed out by CCFC and he will be looking for a big performance to prove Dave Jones wrong for letting him go so cheaply.
