Cardiff City Duo Face Disciplinary Tightrope

Cardiff City play Nottingham Forest on Sunday looking to continue their fine form prior to a crucial South Wales derby - the first encounter with rivals Swansea City and an important day in the calendar for fans and players alike.

Whilst there are three points on offer in both games, Swansea City are our biggest opponents and we desperately want to win that game. It's never a good idea to look beyond the next fixture but two Bluebirds players in particular will be wary of their current predicaments.

Injury can strike any player at any time, even in training but Cardiff City's key strike duo of Jay Bothroyd and Michael Chopra have both accumulated 4 yellow cards this season and are 1 booking away from an automatic 1 match ban.

Unlike previous years, the ban would kick in immediately (rather than after 7 days) so one of both of our first choice strikeforce could miss out on facing Swansea City. Both are fiery, committed players and must be careful they come through the Nottingham Forest game OK.

Should Chopra be booked, Ross McCormack would be an ideal replacement and would love his first goal of the season against the Jacks. However, a greater problem is caused by Bothroyd's absence as he is crucial to our style and tactics. Either McCromack or Warren Feeney would replace Jay, but would require a significant change in our focal point - not something we'd wish to test out in the derby game!
