'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coventry vs Cardiff (preview)

Cardiff will travel to Coventry hoping to end the season on a high after a poor run of results. Coventry have performed well this season and their home form is particularly impressive. With a strikeforce of Dele Adebola, Stern John and Gary McSheffrey the City defence, again without captain Darren Purse will need to play well.

Following incidents at the Wolves versus Cardiff match earlier this year, West Midlands Police have decided to impose severe regulations on travelling fans with designated meeting places and tokens to be exchanged for tickets near the ground hampering away fans movements throughout the day.

It was this week revealed that on-loan Feyenoord defender Glenn Loovens has egreed a deal to join City in the summer for £250k. This seems a good bit of business for a 22 year old player who has been extremely solid in his first year in English football.

The team that started against Norwich are expected to begin this game also with Willie Boland and Neal Ardley not quite regaining fitness in time. Youngsters Darcy Blake, Joe Jacobson, Jamal Easter and Curtis McDonald may make the bench with Dadve Jones looking to give them some first team experience though Reserves prolific striker Andrea Ferretti will miss out with an ankle injury.

Coventry will be without former Cardiff City defender Robert Page and fellow Welsh international Richard Duffy through injury while left winger Claus Jorgensen will also be unavailable. Midfielder Isaac Osbourne could recover in time but has not played since January so would probably only make the bench.

Despite Dave Jones pleas not to allow the season to 'fizzle out', the Bluebirds seem to have run out of steam in the past few weeks but have the incentive of a highest finish in decades to look forward to should they win or draw.
