Five Star Whittingham On Fire For Bluebirds

Cardiff City winger Peter Whittingham is enjoyijng a new lease of life after a sensational scoring run has highlighted his worth to the team and helped the Bluebirds climb to third place in the Championship.

The mercurial player is regularly criticised for a lack of consistency and his contribution to the side has been questioned, especially when we are struggling for possession and forward momentum. However, his form has kept the likes of Joe Ledley and Ross McCormack confined to bench duty when both would love to start in his place.

The former Aston Villa man has now scored in the previous 5 games - a fanstastic achievment in itself while he has actually netted a total of 6 times within that period. Three of those goals have come from the penalty spot while two others saw him in the right place at the right time - the other goal was a rare headed effort and Whitts is un-droppable at the minute. He is currently the joint second top scorer in the Championship behind Michael Chopra.

Despite the good form, Whittingham is capable of better and was largely anonymous during the second half against Coventry City. He possesses superb natural skill and when confident adds flair, creativity and a real goal trheat to our midfield. It's quite evident that Whittingham is enjoying his football at the moment and long may that continue.
