Cardiff City are waiting on the fitness of key striker and former Coventry City man Jay Bothroyd ahead of tonight's game after he was taken off with a knee problem. his place would likely go to Ross McCormack after the striker made his second subs appearance after a hamstring injury on Saturday.
Stephen McPhail missed that game after surgery to his neck, but may come back into contention depending on his scarring. City missed his control and passing ability against Palace and he could replace the out-of-sorts Joe Ledley.
Kevin McNaughton, Ross McCormack and McPhail are those capable of breaking into the starting XI while the only long term casualty is Kelvin Etuhu with ruptured ankle ligaments.
For Coventry City, Aron Gunnarsson is definitely out after potentially breaking his leg on Saturday. He could be out for some time, which is never something we want to see so hopefully it's not as bad as feared.
Isaac Osbourne and Jack Cork are the only available central midfielders for Coventry but Ashley Cain or Freddie Eastwood would be hoping to be re-called in any midfield shake-up or change of formation.
Former Norwich player and Cardiff City target Sammy Clingan will also miss out with a broken toe prompting Chris Coleman to move in the transfer market by bringing in Chris Hussey and Gary Madine on loan.
