Cardiff City 6-1 Derby County (Player Ratings)

David Marshall 6

Made two good saves but reluctant does not describe his inability to leave the line.

Adam Matthews 7

Very calm and assured, though he sometimes feels pressure to do something special - looks a tremendous prospect.

Mark Kennedy 7
Croft got behind him once in 90 minutes and Kennedy looked steady throughout contributing some telling passes.

Anthony Gerrard 7

The centre-back partnership remains a problem and we looked particularly suspect at set-pieces. Typically committed but was tested by Stead.

Mark Hudson 6

So solid at times, but uncomfortable on the deck. We failed to deal with set-pieces throughout and need more work.

Chris Burke 8
Worked hard throughout and took his goal superbly. The width offered by Burke is absolutely crucial and he was lively and creative all game..

Stephen McPhail 8

A brilliant return for the Irishman who defended well and broke up play before creating two Chopra goals and feeding Burke- a welcome return to form .

Peter Whittingham 7

A goal and assist in the first half but served only to link play and missed the fun in the second. Failed to beat Stoor once but remained a threat when given space.

Gavin Rae 6

Worked hard but was largely outshone and anonymous alongside McPhail. Did some unseen work as usual and contributed, but he rather than his partner should fear for his place as Ledley returns.

Jay Bothroyd 7
If only he`d got a goal… Worked incredibly hard after recent criticism and won so much in the air. A late 30 yard effort was oh so close and he beat the offside trap to set-up the first. Did well and appreciated the support from the fans.

Michael Chopra 9.5 M.O.M.
Four goals is a superb haul in any game and he got behind Derby regularly. Every goal was clinically finished and that £3m looks an absolute bargain. Goal drought? What goal drought?!
