Ledley Out For Cardiff City: Trio Await Re-Call

Ledley Out For Cardiff City: Trio Await Re-Call

Cardiff City will be without influential midfielder Joe Ledley for tonight`s clash against Derby County after his red card in the 3-1 away defeat at Sheffield Wednesday - the first dismissal of his career.

Joe was unfortunate to be sent off, but as he received two yellow cards - an appeal is not allowed. Initially he was cautioned for a reaction to being penalised, where he considered kicking the ball away but pulled out. In the second half he was booked for a decent challenge though he was off his feet - he clearly took the ball.

That will mean a midfield re-shuffle for Dave Jones, and that is no bad thing as we have continually struggled in that area. However, with Ledley unavailable we have no like-for-like cover on the left flank meaning the disappointing Peter Whittingham will keep his place.

Stephen McPhail returns from a 3 match ban tonight, so may partner Gavin Rae in central midfield. However, Solomon Taiwo and Riccy Scimeca will also be hoping for starting spots after beginning games against QPR and Aston Villa respectively in recent times.
