Big names linked with Cardiff

Dave Jones' Cardiff side have been linked with yet more players today with Wigan Pair Stephane Henchoz and Damien Francis the latest names to be mentioned as summer transfers for Dave Jones. Given the remarkable job done by Jones and his team this season, attracting players of a high calibre should prove somewhat easier for Jones as well as the lure of a new stadium and massively improved training facilities in the offing.

Henchoz has played a large role in Wigans success this year and the ex-Liverpool defender and Swiss international would could be among the biggest names to sign for Cardiff since the days of Robbie James and Kevin Ratcliffe.
Francis has played a lesser role for the Latics but the former Norwich midfielder has played at Premiership level and scored some important goals with his late runs into the box.

Other names recently linked with Dave Jones have been Kevin McNaughton (defender, Aberdeen), Steven Naismith (Striker, Kilmarnock), Jamie Tolley (midfielder, Shrewsbury), Joe Hart (keeper, Shrewsbury) and Steve Jones (Striker, Crewe). Jones is likely to have some transfer money available from the sale of top-scorer Cameron Jerome but may opt to invest the transfer kitty in wages to add depth to a very small squad.

Jones often keeps his transfer dealings to himself until the signing is confirmed so these are all links at the moment and no solid bids have been, or are likely to be made public. It is however a credit to Jones and his team that names like these are being linked with the Bluebirds as we search to build a squad capable of challenging for promotion next season.

Henchoz would be a good acquisition for you. Lots of experience to offer.

wouldnt it be better to try and bring youth through the system rather than trying to buy past it players!

I thought Cardiff had no cash, last summer you brought in a few good signings and you at it again.
