Battered Rovers Aim For Cardiff City Backlash

Cardiff city travel North this weekend for a difficult away fixture against Doncaster Rovers. While we dispatched Bristol Rovers 3-1 midweek, Doncaster were given a battering from Premiership pace-setters Tottenham Hotspur. The scoreline ended 5-1 and the Bluebirds must beware a Rovers backlash as they return to Championship action.

Spurs were simply too strong for Doncaster, the quality available to Redknapp is clear with Pavlyuchenko, Bentley, Crouch, Huddlestone and O`Hara getting the goals. Doncaster actually started well but will be dismayed by the manner of their brushing aside. A Martin Woods penalty was scant consolation for Rovers and they will be out to make amends.

Doncaster is always a difficult place to visit, we took home a point last year after a late McCormack equaliser but so often a team that has been trounced are fired up and intent on committing their horror show to history. Rovers manager Sean O`Driscoll insisted their performance was encouraging even in defeat and believed the result will spur on his side to greater things.

Bluebirds striker Michael Chopra however will be looking to extent his scoring run and will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing a defence that conceded 5 goals midweek.
