Cardiff City's Chopra: Lucky But Loving It !

Cardiff City striker Michael Chopra is undoubtedly a man in form and will already be sowing seeds of doubt in the minds of Championship defenders after a hat-trick last night making it 6 goals in just three league matches for the diminutive Geordie.

Chopra is now back to fitness and looks a wholly different player to the static and easily marked proposition of last season - when he was clearly struggling with a heel problem. This season, he looks fit, balanced and full of energy. He has the ability to react quickly and burst into life at the slightest opportunity and his partnership with Bothroyd is excellent.

Whilst 6 goals in 3 games is a great achievement, Chopra himself admits there has been a great deal of luck involved. Chops knew nothing about the season opener when Whittingham`s shot deflected off the back of his foot and over Joe Murphy. Goals against Blackpool and Plymouth were mishits but both sneaked over the line while the third goal was a penalty. The other two goals were quality with a fierce drive (vs Scunthorpe) and well executed chip (Plymouth) to show for his efforts.

The man himself reckons he`s 'on fire` and you can bet everything you have that Chopra doesn`t care how they come, as long as they continue to. Goals breed confidence and he feels unbeatable - a priceless commodity in a striker.

Michael Chopra is well and truly back over the hill, and we`re all loving it!
