Peri-Peri On Menu For Cardiff City

Cardiff City have taken Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard on trial and could offer him a contract if he can prove his quality and fitness. The move was arranged by Tony Pulis who recommended the striker to Dave Jones and spoke highly of the Bluebirds to the player and his agent.

The former Portsmouth man is a powerful attacker and can be a difficult proposition and weigh in with some goals. However, the 26 year old`s career has been blighted by injuries and he has barely played in recent seasons.

Pericard linked up with the Bluebirds on Tuesday and has already been through a full pre-season with the Potters. He was lacking in match time and came on during our friendly against Valencia. He did little to inspire in his appearance though it was he who won the penalty for McCormack to waste.

Pericard was imprisoned in 2007 for several months for perverting the course of justice. At 26, he should still be in his prime and is available on a free transfer. At present we are one striker light with McCormack also hoping to leave - if he can remain injury free, Pericard could be offered a deal and offer competition for Jay Bothroyd`s shirt in attack.

not a cardiff fan i am a plymouth fan, we had pericard on loan when we had pulis as our gaffer, he notched a hat-rick on his debut 4 us vs cov but after that was awfull!!! he looked lazy and not interested in the game, he would not chase the ball and wanted everything so close to him he did not have to move 4 the ball. was glad to see the back of him when he left!!! he may of changed but cant see it, so dont expect to much from him if he does sign 4 u.

Thats a useful opinion to have - thanks Lurkin. Not the most inspiring signing but DJ does have a good record of getting the most form dis-interested players, maybe Pericard will be up for it.

I'll all for this signing as back-up to Jay, needs to sort attitude out but wont get many more chances at this level and at 26 needs to sort his career out
Aderyn las
sounds a bit like jason scotland, is lazy and likes the ball to feet and he got 23 goals for the scum!! true i dont think he will get many games ahead of jay, but maybe he would be the competition jay needs also to perk up a bit as chopra's got ross on his heels!! we still need an attacking midfielder though even if Joe stays!!
