Cardiff City Man Warns Strike Partner

Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd has stopped short of pleading with strike partner Ross McCormack to stay and has warned him he could face the same problem wherever he goes after the Scotsman recently revealed plans to leave the Blubeirds over fears of not being a regular first team starter.

McCormack is not content to play second fiddle to Michael Chopra and is fed up of being played in an unfamiliar left wing role. He wants to talk to any club who meet our valuation and is intent on securing guaranteed first team action and safeguarding his International future.

Jay Bothroyd warned his team-mate and told BBC Sport:

'He's saying he's making football decisions. For me, every club you go to now - Championship upwards - no one is guaranteed a first team place.'

'There's always competition, there's normally four strikers at a club and everyone has got to work hard to earn yourself a start.'

'Ross is a terrific player but ultimately it's down to him.'

McCormack will struggle to find what he is looking for, and every club will have 4 strikers to choose from. Unless Rosco wants to be the big fish in a small pond, he's going to have to make his mind up and fast. The longer this sage continues, the more he will have to work to win over our fans - a hat-trick against Scunthorpe United would help though !
