Cardiff City have been slightly embarrassed this past week with last season`s top scorer Ross McCormack looking to leave the club following his belief he will be left on the bench regularly to accommodate Chopra and Bothroyd. You can understand where he`s coming from after Chopra regularly started ahead of Ross despite looking injured and struggling for goals.
Hull City and Portsmouth are the two clubs widely interested while McCormack himself has been subject of both support and anger from disappointed Bluebirds fans. Whilst there are two sides to every story, McCormack has behaved pretty well and while he could be more loyal by staying, he does have high club and International aspirations and his fears are not without foundation - he was regularly played out of position or left on the bench and this looks likely to continue.
Vital Cardiff City asked for YOUR opinions on our top striking partnership for next season and it was little surprise that McCormack, who did top-score last year, was the top pick to partner Jay Bothroyd:
Jay / Chops 33%
Jay / Rosco 46%
Rosco / Chops 12%
Ross out wide 9%
Very few people believed a Ross and Chopra combination could work in attack, it certainly didn`t seem to and even fewer favoured Dave Jones` plan of utilising McCormack in a wide left role. As part of a 4-3-3 it could work but the chances of Jones switching formations appear as low as ever.
A new poll is open asking for opinions on Paul Parry`s future as a Cardiff City player.
