Eriksson Wants Cardiff Man At Notts County

Cardiff City youngster Darcy Blake is being lined up by Sven Goran Eriksson who has contacted Dave Jones regarding a loan move to Notts County.

Erikkson was a shock recruitment to County and the former England boss is intent on re-vitalising the squad and bringing in several new faces with Welsh U21 star Blake a distinct possibility.

Cardiff City could be tempted to allow Bleke to leave, in order to gain valuable first team experience. QUite simply, he needs to be playing and we can't offer that at present. The only way he will improve is with regular gametime.

Blake is highly versatile, he can play anywhere across the back four (he lists centre-half as his best) and can also do a good job as a tenacious midfielder. Ironically, he has been used mostly as a full-back by the Bluebirds - an are in which we are strong. At present, McNaughton, Quinn, Comminges and teenager Adam Matthews are likely to be ahead of Darcy in the reckoning for a starting position.

A loan deal seems a good move for all parties involved, though Erikkson has yet to get permission from Cardiff City and still has other targets lined up.
