Cardiff City Look To Bring Back 'Ginge'

Cardiff City are yet again looking at a possible deal to bring Welsh defender James Collins back to his former club from West Ham United.

Collins left along with Danny Gabbidon as our debts soared. We got 3.5m for the pair with many feeling Gabbidon alone was worth that amount but Collins was the real target for the Hammers and he soon emerged from Gabbidon's shadow into a rock solid and strong defender.

Several Bluebirds moves for Collins have been rebuffed, both permanent and on-loan deals but Ginge has struggled with injuries lately and with Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola impressing in East London and looking to re-build, Collins could be allowed to exit.

Cardiff City are difinitely in the market for another centre-back and if Collins were to join Johnson and Gyepes - there would surely be no stronger pool of centre-backs in the division. Whether Collins would go for a return is not known, he has been non-commital in the past but the chance of first team football would be a major factor at the age of 25 and with the Wales captaincy up for grabs.
