Birmingham City Target Cardiff's McCormack
Cardiff City hotshot Ross McCormack is being closely tracked by his former pursuers Birmingham city as they seek to build a squad capable of maintaining Premiership status next season.
McCormack joined Cardiff City last summer in a £150k compensation deal with former club Motherwell. Previous interest from Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Middlesborough was brushed aside as he sought first team football and was impressed by our new training facilities. Ross actually got a call from Birmingham City whilst on his way to sign terms but neglected the chance and higher wages - take note Marcus Bent.
After an impressive season in the Championship and for Scotland, McCormack's admirers are growing and his 22 goal haul looks all the more impressive after spending time on the subs bench and in midfield to allow Chopra to play. He scored a number of penalties, but did brilliantly well in front of an under-performing midfield, looking bright throughout the season.
Any move for McCormack would require a figure upwards of £4m, a big risk on a player as yet unproven and with one season in English football behind him. However, Birmingham City are known admirers and have followed his progress closely for some time. This rumour has been persistent since Birmingham's promotion was confirmed and seems a realistic one.
