Charlton Athletic Unbeaten In Five Matches

Cardiff City have plenty more to play-for than already relegated Charlton Athletic tonight after the Addicks long-awaited relegated was confirmed last Saturday.

However, they gained a draw against Blackpool despite going two goals up and have made themselves difficult to beat of late with three successive draws and having lost just once in seven games - to high-flying Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Fellow promotion hopefuls Reading, Preston North End and Birmingham City could only muster draws in that period and Cardiff City have no divine right to take the points.

Three clean sheets in the past five matches suggest Charlton Athletic are not going down without a fight and remain tough to break down.

Cardiff City need the points and the chance to restore confidence and credibility following a 6-0 demolition by Preston North End. On paper, playing the side 9 points adrift at the foot of the table and having already been relegated looks a simple task. It rarely works out that way.

You need something from this game after the Preston result. . . . . .not an easy one away from home.
