Thommo Misses Out On Cardiff City Return
Cardiff City will not face a former player when Burnley are the visitors later today with ankle ligament damage looking certin to keep former Bluebird Steve Thompson on the sidelines.
Thommo was at Cardiff City this season, and scored on the opening day at home to Southampton. However, his future as a Bluebird had been in doubt for some time with Dave Jones openly critical of his lack of goals.
A move to Burnley followed and despite a slow start - Thompson seems to prefer his more Northern home, netting regularly for the Clarets and having scored 10 already this season despite not starting as a first choice striker.
Cardiff City fans know all about his work-rate, determination and aerial ability. He would have been desperate to score against us, to prove Dave Jones wrong and thankfully Thommo will not be on the scoresheet today.
