Rosco Leaves It To Others As City Win Big !

Cardiff City are extremely fortunate to possess two of the most natural goalscorers in the Championship with Ross McCormack leading the scoring charts (despite spending a fair few games in midfield). McCormack has 17 for the season, in 4th place in the Championship while Chopra has reached an impressive tally of 9 goals from his two fruitful loan spells at the club.

However, whereas in seasons past we have relied on one striker to score our goals (think Chopra spell 1, Robert Earnshaw, Cameron Jerome) we now possess better strength in depth and can score goals from other avenues.

Indeed, despite not scoring all that many goals this season, it was surprising to note that we had failed to notch three goals in one game until fairly recently. We have now hit that target three times in just over a month and what is great to see is the way those goals were shared round. Our three top-scoring games and the top goal-scorer got none from ten!!!

Of those 10 goals: Chopra got 2, E Johnson 2, Bothroyd 2 with Ledley, Whittingham, Roger Johnson and Gavin Rae chipping in with a goal apiece. A very healthy spread.

A great deal of the signs we are showing right now mark the team as genuine promotion contenders for the first time since we rejoined the Football League`s second flight. We have certainly evolved as a team, and made giant strides on and off the pitch this year.
