Ledley & Parry Rested With Injuries

Many Cardiff City fans were curious last night when the team-sheets were read out and there was no place in the side for key midfielder Joe Ledley - usually the first name on the teamsheet. Paul Parry was the other unexpected casualty, dropped to the bench following the 2-2 draw with Swansea City. While Parry has not been on top form, it was a suprise to see Peter Whittingham named in the starting XI after the former Aston Villa man has also been poor of late.

However, it has now been revealed that Ledley was rested after a difficult Wales duty and haveing felt his hamstring tightening during training this week. He was left out as a precaution to ensure he is available for the Easter double header against Palace and Burnley.

Paul Parry was named on the bench and made an appearance as a second half substitute and has revealed he has been struggling with a knee injury recently. He has had pain-killing injections to his knee, but was dropped to the bench as Dave Jones was keen for him not to play the full game and aggrevate the problem further. He is expected to be available for all the remaining games but will continue to face a battle for the wide midfield positions.
