Cardiff City play Swansea City on Sunday with both sides desperate for the points to aid their respective promotion hopes. Both sides have been there or there abouts all season, and are widely acknowledged as two of the top footballing sides of the division.
However, the Swans charge has faltered of late and an abundance of drawn games has seen their progress slowed over the season. Of particular interest to Bluebirds fans is the recent away record of Swansea City and the Swans have struggled on their travels of late and are without an away win since beating Portsmouth back in January.
Seven away league games without a win, including 4 draws and three defeats. They haven't scored on the road for 210 minutes.
By contrast, the Bluebirds have won 4 of the last 6 at home, with one draw and one defeat - a freak encounter against Sheffield United incorporating a dodgy penalty and two sendings off !
Whether statistics will matter in such a tense encounter we will see. The atmosphere at Ninian Park is sure to be intense and hostile while tensions will be running high in both sets of players. If Swansea City lose, their play-off chances look much slimmer. If the Jacks were to win....we won't even contemplate that unhappy thought.
