Swans Sweating On Star Striker Scotland

Swansea City are waiting on the fitness of their top scorer ahead of the all important South Wales derby clash on Sunday.

Scotland has 18 league goals to his name this season, and 3 in the FA Cup. That puts him in joint second place in the Championship goalscoring charts - only Sylvain Ebanks-Blake has scored more this season.

As well as his goals, Scotland is crucial to the 4-5-1 formation favoured by Roberto Martinez. His combination of pace, strength and awareness have been key to holding the ball up and allowing for the likes of Pratley and Jordi Gomez to fire a number of goals from midfield.

Scotland has been on International duty this week with Trinidad & Tobago and is sure to feel the effects of his travels. Current thinking from within the Swans camp is that Scotland will play, but will be monitored closely for fatigue.

If deemed unfit, or removed through tiredness - Gorka Pintado will deputise though he only has 5 league goals to his name. Incidentally, one of those goals was a neat volley to equalise against us during the league fixture at the Liberty Stadium.
