Cardiff City Star Rosco Fires Scotland To Win

Cardiff City striker Ross Mccormack played a blinder last night as Scotland gained a useful victory over Iceland at Hampden Park. The former Rangers and Motherwell man has been frustrated and sentenced to bench duty of late with Michael Chopra the preferred partner to Jay Bothroyd. However, McCormack gave the kind of energetic, threatening performance we have seen at times this season and will have caught the eye of many as he was named man of the match in a 2-1 win for the Scots.

McCormack opened the scoring with a clinical finish high into the net, whilst he almost had an assist with a whipped corner. Steven Fletcher got the winner for Scotland late on but McCormack was one of the bright spots of the game, playing 90 minutes, scoring his first International goal and quite possibly doing enough to gain a starting place for Sunday`s all-important clash with Swansea City at Ninian Park.

Cardiff City team-mate Gavin Rae was a 90th minute substitute during the game.
