Cardiff City Keeper Ready For Comeback

Cardiff City's former number one goalkeeper Peter Enckelman is nearing a return to first team action after undergoing knee surgery back in January - the Finn has missed a number of Bluebirds games in which time Tom Heaton, Dimi Konstantpoulos and Stuart Taylor have all had stints between the sticks.

The current occupier is Stuart Taylor, signed on loan from Aston Villa and so far looking safe and assured. Taylor has been beaten by a couple of penalties but guessed the right way with both and although his positioning was awry for Sheffield United's second goal of a 3-0 drubbing - we only had nine men and he did reasonably well under pressure.

Enckelman believes he is nearing a comeback and told the SW Echo:

'The Swansea game might be too soon for me, but I won't be too far off being ready to play by the time the International break is over.'

We do still have 8 games to play this season, with Enckelman sure to miss the next he will only have a few games to re-establish himself as the number one - would Dave Jones want to tinker with the goalkeeper as we fight for a play-off position? We'll see.
