Be Kind To Our Tired Cardiff City Boys !

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones will send a heartfelt plea to the national managers of our players called up to represent their countries this week. Jones will ask the bosses to be mindful of the fatigue levels within our squad in particular given the fixture pile-up we face.

Gavin Rae and Joe Ledley will not have been helped by Sunday's farce as both played the full 90 minutes, the majority as 9 on 11.

Jones told the SW Echo:

"It will be no more than a polite call telling them to monitor my players - they have all had a hard season. I simply want them to be aware of the situation, not push them too hard in training."

"My priority is Cardiff City, but I am not on a collision course with anybody. I will be having a chat with them - nothing more."

Ledley (Wales), Gyepes (Hungary), E Johnson (USA) and Rae, McCormack (both Scotland) have all been selected for their national squad and Johnson excepted are all certainties to feature heavily in the run-in if fit. Youngster Darcy Blake will also report for duty with Wales U21s but is still undergoing treatment for his hamstring injury aswell as a mouth problem.

The remainder of our squad will be given a much deserved break and will hopefully return mentally and physically sharp. There was no evidence of tiredness on show on Sunday, but we face a tough few weeks ahead.
