Cardiff City Swoop To Land Aston Villa Stopper

Cardiff City have moved to bolster their goalkeepeing options after landing former target Stuart Taylor on loan from Aston Villa.

City currently have Peter Enckelman and Tom Heaton on the treatment table while on-loan Greek keeper Dimi Konstantopolous has made two dreadful mistakes in his brief spell and is suffering a crisis of confidence.

Dimi played well for Swansea City earlier in the season but looks fragile at best for the Bluebirds. A calamitous drop dropped two points against Wolves while a moment of horrible indecision saw Norwich City take the lead on Tuesday. In between, Dimi's kicking has been extremely poor and his understanding with his defensive - one of the meanest in the league - has been almost non-existant.

Stuart Taylor has now agreed an emergency loan deal with the Bluebirds and come with good pedigree. Brad Friedel is the current number one at Villa, while they also have Brad Guzon on the bench. The former Arsenal man was once touted as the successor to David Seaman and a future England star but has struggled to nail down a starting position.

Taylor is almost certain to start in the Severnside derby this weekend as we travel to Bristol City.
