Cardiff City forward Eddie Johnson put in a great performance last night, impressing fans and manager alike and was a large part of our return to winning ways. We immediately looked more menacing than with a Parry/Chopra/McCormack partnership in attack. Although the early goal surely helped, Eddie won numerous headers and held the ball up impressively . On several occasions he played his way out of trouble tidily and kept possession for the side. A header went close at the far post and he nearly connected with a low Chopra cross.
Eddie Johnson visibly gre in confidence with the crowd`s encouragement, it was also good to see his team-mates supporting him aswell and over the 90 minutes he was our best player - unbelievable though it might seem./ The only thing missing was a goal and what does he have to do to score?!? One occasion saw Eddie chase down the keeper and nip ahead of him but both he and defender slipped with an open goal. A low shot late on was blocked and another saw him win a dangerous free-kick in the foul that led to Andranik`s red card.
Eddie Johnson put in a 90 minute performance last night, typified by a high work-rate, good touch and aerial prowess. His link up play was good and he completely deserved the man of the match display. This performance was as good as we`ve come to expect from Jay Bothroyd. Well done Eddie, more of the same…
