'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Corporal Jones Tells Bluebirds: 'Don't Panic ' !!

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones is frustrated with his team for their combined ineptitude over the last two games, and with the media and supporters for their disappointed reactions. It seems Jones alone has the correctly balanced view that yes we were rubbish, but it's all good anyway!

Jones believes the end of our run was always inevitable and that some perspective is needed to see the great position we are in. He told the SW Echo:

"If we`d lost our fifth or seventh game in this 13-game run, and then gone on and been unbeaten for another seven, there wouldn`t be this negativity.

"We managed to show great consistency over 13 games, but because we lost on Saturday, it`s as if it`s the end of the world.

"It`s like being hit with a sledgehammer. But we`re in a fantastic position, we`ve worked hard to get there - and one loss isn`t going to end our season.

"There`s still a lot of football to be played.

"We`ve got to be careful that nobody starts to panic.

It's fair to say the break in our schedule due to posponed matched has slowed our momentum and our progress. The games are now coming think and fast and if we can find a winning formula again, promotion is a real possibility. Tonight's game at home to Barnsley is an opportunity to set the record straight and a great chance for three points. A defeat away at a club fighting for survival is always a possibility, at home we make our own luck.
