All About Quincy For Cardiff City Fans

Cardiff City are without key frontman Jay Bothroyd for the trip to Southampton tomorrow and judging by Wednesday's flat showing - we really missed his presence, skill and guile up front despite the potent attacking threats of Chopra and McCormack. With those two plus Eddie Johnson, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and Paul Parry as options - you would think we have enough firepower to cope in Jay's absence but we struggled badly and it is clear that Jay is key to our style of play and we find it very difficult to adapt.

As such, a pollwas opened on this Vital Cardiff City website inviting readers' opinions on who should start in attack on Saturday. The results produced an overwhelming sway in favour of granting a full debut to pacy frontman Quincy - currently on loan from Spartak Moscow. He has been an un-used substitute once and played 10 minutes on Wednesday.

Quincy Should Start ! (65%)
Chops & Rosco. (13%)
Chops & Parry. (10%)
Chops & Eddie J. (6%)
Rosco & Parry. (3%)
Rosco & Eddie J. (3%)
Parry & Eddie J. (0%)

Despite not making much of an impact on Wednesday, Quincy has the backing of the fans. It was noticable that very few votes were cast for any partenrship involving Eddie Johnson - who has flopped dismally since joining on loan from Fulham. The figures may be somewhat distorted by fears over Michael Chopra's fitness - he is suffering from a heel problem but after having a special padding designed by a specialist - there are hopes he will be fit.The result of this poll may show fans' frustrations with the poor showing last time out, but many are eager to see Quincy in action and are hopeful his pace and energy can worry Championship defences. Although he does not offer vastly different attributes to Chopra and McCormack - he is highly rated and expectant fans want to see what he can do.
