Dave Jones: QPR Game Means Nothing.

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has moved to lower expectations and reduce pressure on his in-form side as we prepare to face a QPR side looking for a play-off spot.

With Cardiff's many games in hand, we could realistically catch the front three and mount a serious challenge for an automatic promotion spot. However, Dave Jones is not prepared to pile too much pressure on any one game and will continue to tkae the season one game at a time. He told BBC Sport:

'Tomorrow doesn't decide anything because there's so many points still up for grabs.'

'In one month's time, at the end of March, we will have a clearer picture of where everybody is.'

'This is the stage where everybody starts to get nervy.'

The form of other sides around is has not been good, leaving matters in our own hands and further complicating the picture. If we were to play all our games in hand at once, we would have a very good idea of our realistic ambitions - however thats not possible and its non-sensical to talk about 'must win' games in February.

Dave Jones is not a great fan of the media, and often has a little pop - this time however he's spot on and whichever journalist suggested it was 'must win' was pretty far off the mark.
