Cardiff City: Crazy Decision Or Savvy Selection ?

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones shuffled his pack somewhat on Sunday. a move that saw top-scorer Ross McCormack shunted out to a wide left position - he did OK but was not the attacking threat we have seen in attack from Rosco. The baffling decision however, was made early on following an injury to Jay Bothroyd. We had one striker on the bench, new-boy Quincy so Jones understandably chose to bring on Chris Burke - unlucky to have been dropped.

The obvious thing to do would have been to switch Ross McCormack to partenr Michael Chopra in attack, that however did not happen as Paul Parry was ther man instructed to push up - leaving McCormack in midfield. The chance came moments after Parry had done exceptionally well in a wide position, setting up Chopra's equaliser.

Effectively, this meant City were playing with a striker (McCormack) on the left wing, and Paul Parry (a left winger) up-front! Perhaps there was a pre-meditated gameplan in matching McCormack against Wolves right-back Kevin Foley, who loves to attack. However, this decision by Dave Jones gives the clearest indication yet that he thinks Chopra and McCromack cannot work as a partenrship, at the moment at least.

A poll is open to this effect on the right hand side of your screen. Most fans apparently disagree with Jones and would like to see the pacy but diminutive duo in attack.
