Cardiff City's Ledley For Wales Captaincy ?

Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley has been central to the Bluebirds fine form of late, a run which has co-incided with the axing of Darren Purse and Stephen McPhail from the side - meaning Joe Ledley took on the Cardiff City captaincy, a role he has eased into brilliantly. Although he is 4th choice skipper with the Bluebirds (Riccy Scimeca is also ahead of him), Ledley could be set to fulfil a boyhood dream by captaining his National side in the upcoming friendly against Poland.

Ledley is a proud Welshman, and has been honoured to skipper his hometown club so being handed the Wales armband would surely be a momentous occasion for him. With regular captain Craig Bellamy likely to miss out through injury, aswell as stand-in Carl Fletcher - Toshack must look to a squad packed with youngsters to select an alternative leader.

Although young, Ledley is hugely experienced, not particularly vocal but he is a superb role-model while his attitude, determination and commitment are exemplary. Former Bluebirds and Wales captain Kevin Ratcliffe has given his backing to Ledley while Wayne Hennessey, Lewin Nyatange and David Vaughan are other contenders for the role.
