FA Cup Fate Decided For Cardiff City

Cardiff City fans watched with mild interest last night as the FA Cup 4th round replay to decide our potential 5th round opponents was played at Turf Moor between Burnley and West Brom.

The Baggies are languishing at the foot of the Premiership while Burnley have been around the play-offs for some time and are known rivals to our own promotion ambitions. As such it was unlikely to matter which side we played. Side of similar quality in good form, or a side supposedly a little better but short on

As it turns out, it was an uneven contest with the Championship side clearly on top, in the end the Clarets went through after a 3-1 victory - 2 goals scored by a Mr Steve Thompson - perhaps he spent last night writing a new FA Cup song!

Of course, Cardiff City have to achieve the small feat of beating star-studded Arsenal in this round first, away from home and probably without Gabor Gyepes. We`ll take it as it comes, we certainly have a chance. The prestige of beating Arsenal will be far more enticing than the prospect of facing Burnley in the next round!
