Chopra Comes Home To Cardiff City !

Cardiff City yesterday wrapped up the signing of fans favourite Michael Chopra on-loan from Sunderland until the end of the season. Chops has already spent one loan spell with us before being recalled to the Black Cats but this time it`s a longer period and crucially - there is an agreement already in place to complete the permanent signing from June 2009.

Chopra has not found it easy since moving away from Ninian Park prior to last season - finding first team chances hard to come by and enduring personal problems. A loan spell at Cardiff helped him, and he helped us - it seemed however, we had seen the last of Chopra when recalled and 'a part` of Sbragia`s plans and with little chance of us affording a move.

However, despite other Championship clubs being interested but put off by the Black Cats - Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale played it very cleverly, admitting defeat but maintaining a regular dialogue with Sbargia and eventually persuading him to part. Chops loves it here, we love him and he links up once again with his close friends Roger Johnson and Stephen McPhail.

Welcome home Chops!!!

.. the best thing to have happened to us for a long time .. from those strikers we were interested in - Evans, Smith, Fletcher - Chopra is far and away the best for us!
