In a move to please Cardiff City fans everywhere, Peter Ridsdale and Dave Jones have come to a decision of huge significance and will not enter into talks regarding a moe away from the club for star midfielder Joe Ledley.
Whilst you can never be 100% certain in football, Messrs Ridsdale and Jones are not the type who like to be made to look stupid. This time, there are no 'every player has his price' or 'we have to consider significant' bids.
Ridsdale told the WM:
"Nobody will be leaving this football club during the current transfer window - no matter how much money is offered."
"Dave Jones and I have agreed that and the team have been told. We are keeping this team together - and adding a couple more players. Our intent is to ensure there is every chance of Cardiff City being promoted at the end of this season."
Pretty tough talking from Mr Ridsdale - surely he couldn't go back on such a clear statement.
Some fans would have been satisfied to see Ledley leave for a £6m fee not so long ago - but the reecnt form and results point to a realistic chance of a promotion chase for the Bluebirds and the loss of Ledley would be a huge blow.
Fulham, West Ham United, Everton, Wigan Athletic and Boton Wanderers have all shown interest. Roll on 5pm.
