Cardiff seems to be hanging in there in the play-off race. A suprise win for Burnley on friday night against form team Norwich seems to have ended Norwich's late bid for the play-off spot.
Crystal Palace in 5th place concede a last-minute penalty at Derby to go down 2-1, but with the three teams who could realistically have caught them all failing to win, it seems more than ever to be a 3-team race for the 6th place, at the moment being occupied by Preston North End. Preston, like Cardiff, failed to score at home and had to settle for a point against a resilient Plymouth.
Wolves, having looked highly impressive a fortnight ago, lost yesterday to a Sheffield Wednesday side fighting for their championship status. Marcus Tudgay scored two goals for Wednesday in an excellent 3-1 away win.
Congratulations to Reading who confirmed their promotion to the Premiership yesterday after a 1-1 draw with Leicester, after Leeds and Watford failed to win. The Royals have never played in the top-flight before and having been pushing for promotion seemingly every year, they deserve their chance.
A strange day in the Championship with only Sheffield United winning in the top 16.
Relegation candidates Crewe, Millwall and Sheff. Wed. picked up vital wins while Brighton also gained a point against Luton.
