Manager Comments After Cardiff & Arsenal Draw

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was a happy man after watching his side hold Arsenal to a goalless draw at Ninian Park. Jones said:

"I don`t think anybody can walk away from Ninian Park disappointed after that ... and we`re going there to play them again, a world-class side,"

"We`ve got to match what we`ve done here, although we`re not stupid, we know it will be a huge task."

"But I`ve never put a side out that has not believed they could get something from the game, no matter what."

Arsene Wenger was slightly relieved but accepted the thought of a replay after seeing his side dominate the second half:

"Cardiff made things uncomfortable for us. But I sense that with any Premier League team going to a Championship ground in front of a capacity crowd, there is a good chance of a draw."

"At 0-0, of course anything can happen. But I was not too worried in the second half. Cardiff did not create many chances."

Yes, we could do without a replay because we have so many matches, but if that`s the price to pay for staying in the competition, then we`ll take it."
