Ramsey Set For Cardiff City Return With Arsenal

Cardiff City will welcome back one of the brightest prospects ever to grace Ninian Park when Premiership giants Arsenal visit in the FA Cup 4th Round on 24th January.


Midfielder Ramsey was a product of the Bluebirds academy and became the youngest player ever to play for the club prior to last season. The last campaign saw him emerge further and spark a major transfer scramble during the summer. He eventually turned his back on Manchester United to join Arsene Wenger at the Gunners for 5m.


Ramsey has impressed Arsenal fans in his handful of appearances, while his move to the Wales National team may herald a new era for Wales along with fellow young talents Bale, Ledley, Gunter, Collison etc. His appearances have come mostly in cup competitions, including a start in Arsenal's 3rd round win over Plymouth Argyle on Saturday. Ramsey looks likely to play some part in the game and with creative playmaker Cesc Fabregas ruled out through injury - Ramsey could be called upon to pull the midfield strings for Wenger's men - a burden he is certainly capable of pulling off.


Cardiff City fans are sure to give the youngster a good reception on his return, in possibly the last FA Cup game to be played at Ninian Park. It was Cameron Jerome who scored the last ever Highbury FA Cup goal - and Arsenal are fitting visitors - win or lose- for our last campaign fought at Fortress Ninian.
