Routledge Spurns Cardiff City For Moneybags QPR

Cardiff City winger target Wayne Routledge has left the club and will not be signing permanently for the Bluebirds. Instead the former Palace man returned to Aston Villa before sealing a move to Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers.

Although Cardiff City had agreed a £300k fee with Villa, QPR maintained an interest and despite Routledge enjoying his time in South Wales - he was swayed by the vastly superior wages on offer - and the return to London.

Cardiff City have now been weakened by the departure of Chopra and Routledge within a week. However, Peter Whittingham and Ross McCormack are both fit and available to slot straight into tomorrow's starting line-up against Reading.

The loss of Routledge is a disappointment, but he did drift in and out of games with alarming regularity. Whilst he always seemed capable of making things happen, he was not entirely dedicated to the cause - this is the second time he has bailed out to chase the big money - he will be hoping the move to QPR goes better than his previous spell in London - a nighmare stint at Tottenham Hotspur.

If you were offered, lets say double your salary and better conditions, are you saying that you would not take it?. I don't think so. Not sure if you would give any notice either!!!!

Moneybags QPR??? Are you talking about the same QPR that has made a profit out of transfers so far this season? Or the QPR that failed to sign Morrison or Hudson on a free because we didnt offer them as much money as Coventry and Charlton?
