Arsenal have been amongst the clubs knoown to admire Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley for some time. In fact, it has been over two years since Arsene Wenger first sent scouts to monitor Joe's performances and the Gunners have always kept an eye on his situation.
Recently, rumblings of a transfer have grown with many feeling the time may now be right for both player and club if Ledley were offered a route to further his career. Wigan Athletic, Stoke City, Everton and Fulham are those strongest linked to the Welsh International but Arsenal could yet register a firm interest which would durely interest Joe.
The Arsenal scouts will have seen Ledley numerous times last season during scouting missions to watch teenage sensation Aaron Ramsey who swapped Cardiff City for the Gunners over the summer. He will also have been able to fill in the Arsenal coaches on Ledley's skill and mentality.
I think Ledley could be a good Premiership player, and if we were paid around the reported £6m mark - it's a good deal for us too. However, whilst a move to Arsenal is sure to tampt him - it's not the right move for Ledley. He is vastly experienced despite his young age andmust not sacrifice playing week-in week-out just for Premiership status - put simply he's too good, and too experienced for reserve team football. A move to a 'lesser' team in the Premiership, like Everton or Manchester City would be a better career decision.
