Cardiff City Boss A Target For Blackburn Rovers ?

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones is reportedly on a shortlist of prospective candidates to fill the vacant managerial position at Premiership side Blackburn Rovers after today's sacking of former MK Dons man Paul Ince.

Blackburn Rovers have suffered a terrible season to date, with much resting on the shoulders of Ince after Mark Hughes' departure to Manchester City. Having slipped worryingly down the table, a disasterous run of defeats have spelt the end of Ince's reign with the next appointment expected to avoid relegation for the Ewood Park outfit.

With the manager's job at Sunderland also vacant, and a tempting proposition - many candidates will not be applying for the Blackburn post although the likes of Avram Grant, Alan Curbishley and Graeme Souness appear strong favourites.

A move for Dave Jones remains unlikely, but chairmenound the country are aware of the impressive job Jones has done for us. Cardiff City fans know Jones has limitations, can be tactically outshone and may be too loyal to his favourites, but, on next to no money at all, we are a bid Championship club with serious promotion credentials - that with selling the likes of Loovens, Gunter, Ramsey and Chopra!

I can't see Jones leaving for Blackburn Rovers. He did nearly leave for West Brom 2 seasons ago, and would surely be interested in taking on an established Premiership club. At present though, Jones is going nowhere.

we are a prime example of a club with financial limitiations who have stuck with a manager for some time and are starting to progress. blackburn are a similar outfit and won't get anywhere by chopping and changing. they got better through hyghes as he had a few seasons to settle. managers get thrown to easily these days. i understnd results speak volumes but look at us 2 seasons ago. we were langusihing down the bottom with jones on the brink of being sacked and then we make the fa cup final and this season we are pushing or play offs/ promotion.

100% right. Ian Holloway left Plymouth chasing the glory/money. He went from a local hero, with a great club overachieving every season - to out of a job and rejected by QPR - madness! Jones will stay - for now.
