Manager Comments After Cardiff City & Reading Draw
Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was disappointed with the result and again found fault with a defensive lapse that cost his team. He told BBC Sport:
'We should have seen out the half-time with a clean sheet and maybe come in a couple of goals ahead.'
'In the second half, I think the expectation is with 10 men we should go on, but I think we lost our patience.'
'You've got to draw teams out and probe away and they were happy to sit there and try and catch us on the break.'
Reading manager Steve Coppell was pleased to escape with a point and plenty of credit but questioned the sending off and penalty. The Royals boss was remarkably calm and many other managers could learn a lesson from his proffessionalism:
'I was very happy to get a point and never question the character of the team.'
'But I wasn't happy with the penalty or the red card. I am thankful to Marcus Hahnemann for keeping us in the game.'
'It looked to me as though Andre Bikey had won his header and he insists that he did nothing wrong.'
