Cardiff City: One To Watch For Reading

Cardiff City host Reading tonight with the Royals so far fulfilling their pre-season expectations of a promotion challenge. Reading currently sit in 3rd place, 5 points ahead of Cardiff City (6th) and 4 points behind Birmingham City in the 2nd automatic promotion position.

Key to Reading's success is the division's leading goalscorer Kevin Doyle. The Republic of Ireland International has hit 14 goals in the Championship this season including hat-tricks against Sheffield Wednesday and Crystal Palace.

Doyle has been continuously linked to a big money move to the Premiership with several clubs reported to be interested in the £7m rated striker. However, Doyle has committed his future to the club and intends to help Reading return to the Premiership.

Doyle has hit 5 goals in the previous 4 Reading matches and is in fine personal form. He will be a constant threat for the Bluebirds defense which looked decidedly shaky against Plymouth Argyle and could be in line for a re-shuffle with Gyepes expected to replace Darren Purse and Kevin McNaughton rated 50-50 with a back problem.
