Former Cardiff City full-back Chris Barker has backed his former team-mates to bounce back from defeat and a particularly poor showing and reckons the Bluebirds will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.
Barker helped his new club Plymouth Argyle to a 2-1 win over us on Saturday - contributing to the opening goal with a long pass from his left-back position. Barker has established himself as a consistent performer for the Pilgrims - which will be of no suprise to Cardiff fans who saw Barker play regularly and become a solid and dependable figure.
Barker told the SW Echo:
"I still believe they (Cardiff) will be up there despite losing to us."
"We played exceptionally well during the first half, but we were hanging on by the end."
"Cardiff are certainly a threat in this division. There are four or five big clubs up there - Birmingham City, Wolves, Reading and Sheffield United."
"But Cardiff will be up there and, hopefully, Plymouth can challenge as well."
City managed to cling onto the final play-off position despite losing 3 of the previous 4 games. Two massive games are up next as we host promotion contenders Reading at home before travelling to rivals Swansea City on Sunday.
